What is Fly Parents?
Fly Parents is an independent, advertising-supported website built around one everyday problem: flying and travelling with a baby or young child, and the surrounding logistics of the first few years — due dates, feeds, sleep, growth, milestones, vaccinations, names, and the cost of it all. There is no company behind it beyond the site itself; it is not a clinic, an airline, or a government health body, and it should not be mistaken for one.
Who is this site for?
Mainly two overlapping groups: parents-to-be who are trying to get their bearings before a baby arrives, and parents of young children who are about to travel — often for the first time with a car seat, a stroller, and a diaper bag in tow. If either of those describes you, most of the site is aimed at you.
What can I actually do here?
The core of the site is eight free tools, each built around one specific question:
- Due Date Calculator— estimates a due date from your last period or conception date using Naegele’s rule, and shows how far along you are.
- Feeding Calculator— turns your baby’s weight into an estimated daily formula or milk total using the common 2.5 oz-per-pound rule of thumb, split into per-bottle amounts.
- Growth Tracker— places your child’s weight and height into a broad percentile band against a simplified WHO-style reference, birth to 36 months.
- Milestone Tracker— a checklist of typical motor, language, social, and cognitive milestones by age band, birth to 36 months.
- Sleep Schedule— suggests bedtime and nap windows from your child’s age, based on a commonly published sleep-needs table.
- Vaccination Schedule— lays the commonly published childhood immunization timeline alongside your child’s age.
- Name Generator— deals out baby name ideas with meanings from a curated list, filterable by sex, starting letter, and length.
- Cost Calculator— a line-by-line budget for a baby’s first year: diapers, feeding, clothing, gear, childcare, healthcare, and extras.

Where do the numbers come from?
Each tool is built on a named, publicly documented method or rule of thumb rather than a proprietary formula: Naegele’s rule for due dates, the 2.5 oz-per-pound guideline for feeding, WHO-style growth percentile bands, standard developmental milestone windows, widely published pediatric sleep-needs figures, and the commonly published childhood immunization schedule. These are general rules of thumb, not lab measurements of your specific child, and they will not match every situation exactly.

Are the tools free, and do I need an account?
Yes to both: every tool on this site is free, and none of them require signing up or logging in. The site is paid for by the advertising you see on the page, not by subscriptions or data sales.
What is the Museum of Childhood & Play?
It is the site’s Museum of Childhood & Play— galleries covering theme parks and rides, the toys and games children have played with, great family journeys, and the things kids tend to love, with every entry, image, and fact drawn from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. The companion Learnsection holds the same wiki-sourced material organized by topic, for anyone who wants to read past the museum’s galleries. Both are reference and browsing material, not tools, and are kept separate from the calculators above.

No. Fly Parents is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any airline, hospital, pediatric association, or government health authority. Where a tool references a commonly published guideline or rule of thumb, that reference is informational only — it is not an endorsement by, or a product of, the body that originated the guideline.
